One year ago...

Yesterday marked exactly one year since we found out we were going to be parents! It is hard to believe this little nugget will be FOUR MONTHS old at the end of the week.

It's hard to imagine life before the projectile poop,  all the smiles, laughs and snuggles she has brought to our lives. Time flies (generic yet so true)!

Love you punk.

Our last hoorah in WA

Before we moved the last of our meet-baby-Mak visitors came out. My dad, brother, sister, her husband, my niece and nephew and my brother's friend. It was really nice to have one last hoorah in Washington before we moved. Literally RIGHT before we moved. Some family left Monday, some left Tuesday and we left Wednesday! The family trip was planned looooong before the move was.

We spent a lot of time ooh-ing and aaah-ing over little Makaela...

Nick asked to be Christie's baby, LOL.

And we can see where little one gets that crazy early morning hair....err all day hair...

We also spent some time just relaxing, and as usual everyone wanted to be around Z; he's a likable kid.

and we also squeezed in some fun downtown Seattle. We went on the Ferris Wheel for the first time, of course did Pike's Place Market,  the Gum Wall, rode the monorail and some of the group went up the Space Needle...

At Pike's Place Market

On the Ferris Wheel
Gum Wall! Bad idea to have the shorter kid stand on the down slope, LOL.
Our adventure to Mt. Rainier was interrupted by rain and yucky weather, so we didn't actually see the full mountain or get to hike, but we did get to have a snowball fight, which was especially cool for my brother and his friend who live in Florida. Snow in June? Sure, why not.

On Monday, after my Dad, Z and his friend left the movers arrived. Christie, Mike, the kids and I decided it'd be a good idea to get out of the house and explore Northwest Trek. We saw lots of wildlife, made some slug zipper pulls and Big M got to push Little M all around the park. Obviously, she loved it.

We left Tim home to supervise the move, which he didn't mind until he found out we snuck in a trip to the Original Pancake House without him!

I think my favorite adventure during the visit was a 3 day trip down to Cannon Beach, Oregon. Who doesn't love a vacation within a vacation?! We rented a beautiful house on the beach right across from Haystack Rock (you know, from the Goonies).

It was super relaxing to just hang out, go to the beach town shops, explore the beach, oh and have breakfast made for us. Meat omelette anyone?!

The curve right before the cliff we almost drove off while looking at the gorgeous views. Oops.

Watching TV, don't bug us.

I'm so thankful the family was able to come out. My dad got to see all of his children and grandchildren together, which is pretty cool considering we all live in different states. It was a bummer my mom didn't get to come on this trip, but she got to come right after Mak was born thankfully!

Love you all!!

Makaela goes to the movies

The cool thing about our new place is that it is only 10-15 minutes from the Drive-In. We're pretty excited about it because it means we get to stay up with new movies and Miss Makaela can come with us!

Zach and I decided to take Mak on her first ever movie adventure. Or umm we decided to bring her along because there was a double feature WE wanted to see, haha. Despicable Me 2 and RIPD. We had a blast.

We ate lots of popcorn, drank way too much soda and slurpees and Z even threw back a cheeseburger. Oooh to have his metabolism.

I was a little paranoid about the possible bug situation, but we managed to avoid getting attacked. Phew.

Sadly, I have no photos of Makaela from the adventure, but she slept the whole time...and we all know you don't use a camera flash when you've got a sleeping baby on your hands. Sleeping baby = good baby.

A message from Makaela...

Clearly she just said, "I love my family and friends. Oh and my Rocky and Taylor puppies and my Rosie bear are pretty great too."

PS: She LOVES watching this video of herself and will "talk to the baby."

Sweet Home Alabama

Thank you technology gods...we have internet and cable! I feel so connected to the world haha. With that being said I'm finally able to upload the new house tour....woot woot.

Here is our Sweet Home in Alabama...we love it a whole bunch.

It is such a relief that the movers finally arrived. We were without our stuff for almost a month, which we were certainly not prepared for!

This little lady had a blast hanging out outside while the movers brought everything in. Luckily they got here early enough in the morning that it wasn't TOO hot. But the girl is a sweating machine regardless, and did not disappoint.

Now that we have all of our stuff the house is looking a lot more like this...

And we are trying to do a little of this...

Let me just say my big plans to paint the whole house because "it will be so much fun!" and "I want it to feel like a home" may just be going out the window. Turns out it is NOT fun. I'd much rather be hanging out like this chica...

Being an adult sucks...lots of unpacking to do so I better get back to it!

3 month photos!

I'll probably say this every month but wow time flies! I didn't think it was possible but I love this little lady more and more every day.

This month's monthly photos are a little different. I couldn't take them in her crib, which is the normal photo shoot location, and I foolishly forgot to bring her monthly-photo onesie with us, so it is still packed up on the moving truck making it's way to us. Since she turned 3 months on July 1st which was close to Independence Day we decided to dress her up in a cute patriotic outfit that Daddy got for her.

One thing I forgot to add in the caption below is that she LOVES blowing bubbles. She is a DROOLING MACHINE. Perhaps itty bitty teeth are on the way sooner rather than later?

The week before turning 3 months was spent in the car and someone sure did love her some roadtrip snacks. And by snacks I mean LOTS of breastmilk. I think she may have gained a pound!

^ This one is Tim's favorite. He says you can totally tell shes debating on whether she should smile or stick out her pouty lip.

And here's a monthly comparison. I'm sure by the time she hits 12 months I'll learn to take the photos in the same lighting so that it can actually be a reasonable comparison. Hahah.
