About Us

We met in Southeast Michigan where we both grew up and got married there in 2007.

We spent the past 6 years in the Pacific Northwest and now we've moved to Alabama. Talk about a transition!

Since we live far away from many of our family and friends we decided to start this blog with the primary goal of staying as closely connected as possible to the ones we love as we tackle parenthood. Wowzers. Can't believe we created a little human.

We are first time parents who are learning as they go. We make mistakes, we laugh a lot and we document it all (okay, mosssst of it) here. This has basically turned into Mak's virtual baby book.

THE BABIES

We welcomed this little nugget on April 1st, 2013. Yep, an April Fool's Day baby. Makaela is the best thing that we've ever created. She has a contagious smile that makes us melt. 

Who would have ever thought we'd get so excited about poopy diapers and baby farts? What a journey parenthood is!

Nicknames: Mak, Makae, Punkin girl, Princess girl, Lil punk, MikMak, Sweet girl, Boogs

We got Rocky in the spring of 2007. He's just about as goofy as they get. He has a crazy underbite and a near toothless mouth (he had 15 teeth removed in 2010). He has adorable freckles on his nose. He loves naps (sleeping in with Tim on the weekend is his favorite), car rides, sloooooow kisses, has dreams every night and doesn't lift his leg when he pees.

Nicknames: Rock, Rocka, Rockafella, Rockstar, Rock-Rock, Big Man

Ginger joined our family in January of 2014. She was somewhere between 3-5 years old when we got her. She was rescued from a home that had over 100 dogs living in it. She then went to a shelter where she was adopted by a family who fostered her for a year. She is timid yet playful, very obedient and great with kids. Her tail is a beast of it's own, and she is constantly whacking things or people with it.

RIP Taylor - May 4, 2008- December 14, 2013. 

We got Taylor in the summer of 2008. She literally thinks she is a princess and that her and Rocky are the only dogs that exist on this earth. When she was young she was soooo tiny (4 pounds) but then she began having seizures. Within 2 weeks of starting her seizure medicine she doubled in size, and hasn't stopped growing since. Thankfully, she is seizure free now and off her meds! She loves snapping her teeth for attention, loves cuddling, smiles after she eats and snores louder than a grown man. She hates car rides, and hates when the phone rings. If shes scared she will immediately roll over and play dead like a possum.
